Ellen is an Associate in the Disputes practice group of the firm. Her practice areas focus on regulatory investigations and white-collar defence, debt recovery, liquidation proceedings, land and employment disputes, matrimonial matters and alternative dispute resolution. Ellen has significant experience in these areas, advising and representing clients both in court and before quasi-judicial and regulatory bodies.
She has represented several international and local clients including Bank of Ghana, the Securities and Exchange Commission, Deloitte & Touche, Ghana Oil Palm Development Corporation, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT.)
Ellen holds an LLB from University of Ghana and a Qualifying Certificate from the Ghana School of Law. She is a member of the Ghana Bar Association.
- Junior counsel for Bank of Ghana in judicial review applications where the exercise of the central bank’s powers under the Banks and Specialised Deposit-Taking Institutions Act, 2016 (Act 930) was challenged.
- Junior counsel for the Registrar of Companies in liquidation proceedings against a fund management company whose licence has been revoked by the Securities and Exchange Commission.
- Junior counsel for the Receiver of Beige Bank in the recovery of debt owed to the now defunct Beige Bank.
- Junior counsel for Deloitte & Touche in general litigation.
- Junior counsel for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in several matters.
