Porcia is an Associate with the Corporate Commercial practice group with over 10 years’ experience in legal practice. She works on legal due diligence audits, advises on telecommunication and broadcasting licensing and regulatory issues, drafts/reviews and assists with perfecting transaction documents, issues legal opinions on various subject matters, assists with registration of intellectual property rights and issues advice on infringements of intellectual property. She also advises on issues relating to e-commerce, payment systems, data protection, incorporation of companies and regulatory compliance.

Porcia has worked on several transactions, for both local and international clients such as Scancom PLC, ATC Tower (Ghana) LTD, Samsung Electronics West Africa (SEWA) Limited, Werksmans Attorneys, DigitalGov LTD, King & Spalding LLP and Webber Wentzel.

She holds a B.A. and an LLB from the University of Ghana, a qualifying certificate from the Ghana School of Law and a Master of Laws in Corporate and Commercial Law from the University of Ghana. She is a member of the Ghana Bar Association.

  • Worked on transaction involving the transfer of all of the shares  of the majority shareholder of a mobile telecommunications operator to a foreign investor.
  • Advised client on the legal and regulatory framework, licensing/registration requirements and approvals required for provision of an online digital platform and undertaking payment systems and services from outside Ghana.
  • Prepared responses to questionnaire on the use of vehicle telematics technology including among others, the data protection implications and considerations.
  • Advised a media and entertainment provider which has a web and mobile application offering video-on-demand clips and video and audio streaming, on the proposed roll out of the offerings in Ghana.
  • Prepared responses to a questionnaire for a client operating in the broadcasting industry on among other things, the licences, authorisations and permits required for tv and audio production and foreign ownership/operation restrictions.
  • Advised clients on employment related matters and drafted agreements including mutual separation agreement.
  • Assisted client with acquisition of two licences from two telecommunications service providers.
  • Advised client on the company incorporation process, licensing and other regulatory compliance requirements for a private employment agency.
