Selwyn Phixon-Owoo is an Associate in the firm’s Disputes Practice Group. He provides solution-oriented advice and representation in litigation and arbitration proceedings before courts, administrative bodies, and arbitral tribunals across sectors such as energy, construction, banking, real estate, healthcare, and telecommunications. He also represents clients in a wide range of matters, including employment disputes, torts, matrimonial matters, contractual breaches, procurement violations, debt recovery, shareholder disputes and constitutional law.

He has represented both local and international clients including, Social Security and National Insurance Trust, Tullow Ghana Ltd, Stanbic Bank Ghana Ltd, Construtora OAS Ghana Ltd, Secoroc Ghana Ltd, Junction Shopping Mall Ltd, Makiber S A and Stena Unicon Offshore Services.

Selwyn holds an LLB from the University of Ghana. He has a Qualifying Certificate from the Ghana School of Law and is a member of the Ghana Bar Association.

  • Junior Counsel in arbitration proceedings against a sovereign entity for breaches of a construction agreement, involving claims exceeding US$65 million.
  • Junior Counsel representing a subsidiary of an international mining equipment supplier in a contract dispute involving claims exceeding US$15 million.
  • Junior Counsel representing two foreign private equity investment funds in a shareholder dispute concerning a local company, with special damages claims exceeding US$1 million.
  • Junior Counsel in a dispute before a quasi-judicial body concerning alleged breaches of procurement laws.
  • Junior Counsel in the enforcement of an international arbitration award involving an international oil exploration company.
