The discovery of oil in commercial quantities in 2007 has seen Ghana join the list of oil producing countries on the continent. With the increase in investments, new discoveries and the development of new fields, the country has great potential for further growth in the petroleum sector value chain. Our experience and technical knowledge, positions us to advise investors and other players on all their needs in the oil and gas industry, including navigating challenges and exploring opportunities.

Our team of lawyers advise leading independent or integrated oil companies, private equity funds (and their portfolio companies), financial services companies, and investors to achieve efficient and innovative solutions to their legal, regulatory, and structural issues in the upstream, midstream and downstream petroleum sectors.

In the upstream sector, we have been engaged on many of the key matters from the inception of this industry in Ghana. We have worked with clients on all phases of project development, from structuring, due diligence, drafting and negotiations, financing, permits, authorisations, and regulatory matters, taxation, and local content, to working on corporate issues arising from doing business in Ghana e.g., employment and subcontracting.

Our advisory services in the midstream and downstream oil and gas sector have included advising on the development of natural gas distribution networks, storage tank projects, gas pipelines, formation of joint ventures, acquisition of oil marketing companies,  importation of petroleum products, single point mooring construction & operation, and related legal and regulatory issues.
